As for whether the “Five Nights at Freddy’s” movie is suitable for kids, well, it is rated PG-13. The target audience for this movie however is children who grew up playing the computer game in 2014, and then eventually the META VR game in 2021. My 11-year-old son is extremely excited for this movie and we will be going to see it in theaters.
How do you know if it is OK for your child to see? It’s important to note that the franchise is known for its horror and jump scares. The games and the movie adaptation are likely to contain intense and frightening moments that may not be appropriate for young children who scare easily. The content may include themes of animatronic characters attacking or pursuing the protagonist, and it could potentially be too intense for some children. Only you know your child and what they can handle.
Parents should exercise caution and consider the content and rating of the movie PG-13 before deciding if your child can watch it. Check content advisories, and reviews to make an informed decision based on your child’s age and sensitivity to horror-themed content.
I will come back and edit this after seeing it myself if it is actually scary on that level.
