GE Profile Smart Indoor Smoker – the first of its kind

Ok, so I finally got my food in it, and startup was easy. everything is going great but my house smells like a fire pit. don’t get me wrong, I love the smell of smoked food, but no one wants their indoors to smell like a smoker. so far, not liking that part much at all. still another 2 hours to go on my cook of the butterball turkey breast.

Setup was pretty simple, I haven’t used the app yet but it does have some recipes available which seems cool.

This is only my first cook, and it could be because it is burning off any of the interior lacquer that were on there as brand-new items usually have a smell the first time, they’re heated… But my house does smell like smoke. Even though I’m sure that it’s filtering as it should for carbon monoxide, (I HOPE!!!!) it’s not filtering out the smell of smoke, and who wants their house inside to smell like a fire pit? Not me. I own 2 other smokers meant for outdoors, and it seems the same as if I stood around them long enough, but outside the wind helps clear the smell. inside even with my oven vent on and ceiling fan, it’s strong and lingering and definitely a downfall so far. Again, it could be just the first cook burnings mixed with the smoke, but it’s potent!

I say at the end of it all, this is a Good Buy! Just beware that it will make your house smell very smokey, so even though it doesn’t NEED ventilation, I highly recommend it.
