The official U.S. unveiling of the Puzzle small commercial EV held on Thursday in Lower Manhattan was quite an event! Representatives from the media and advertising sectors joined investment, manufacturing and corporate luminaries to witness this combination of “sustainability, connectivity and social contribution” in a light commercial vehicle.

The company considered 3 separate stakeholders in the Puzzle’s design: the companies that own and fleet the vehicle, the driver, and the environment. The vehicle is anticipated to be available in the U.S. in 2025 and will boast a myriad of features including zero greenhouse emissions, sustainability and affordability with “recurring” flat panels and parts that fit like a puzzle, its namesake. Optimal cargo space is achieved despite its compact size and the vehicle is equipped with emergency tools, first aid kit, exterior AC outlets, USB ports, Wi-Fi connectivity and a software platform app “MyHWE”. ~ Wayne Griffin

Pricing has not yet been established for the U.S. market.

On Thursday, November 16th, HW Electro, known for pushing the boundaries of green transportation, will introduce the Puzzle to the American market. This event marks a turning point in the commercial automotive industry, where innovation and sustainability converge to shape the future of transportation.

Established in 2019 by visionary entrepreneur Hsiao Weicheng, HW Electro made waves in Japan with its inaugural commercial EV, the Elemo. Now, in a significant leap forward, they are set to introduce the Puzzle in 2024 to the international market. This cutting-edge vehicle represents a fusion of innovation and utility:

  • The squared edges of the Puzzle maximize storage capacity.
  • Equipped with a crowbar, SOS button, and a solar panel for emergency functions, the Puzzle ensures your well-being.
  • The Puzzle features a publicly available compartment, offering Wi-Fi, charging ports, and a first aid kit for convenience and safety.
  • Shared components, from body panels to door handles, make this vehicle cost-effective without compromising on quality.

A full charge will only last you 125 miles, making it better for local use, however exterior AC outlets allow the vehicle to be used as a mobile generator for numerous uses. Contractors will love this feature as they are typically limited in outdoor outlet use.

There are many electric commercial vehicles available in the market today. Some of the popular ones are:

BrightDrop EV600: An electric delivery van that is part of General Motors. It has a range of up to 250 miles on a single charge and can carry up to 600 cubic feet of cargo.

RIZON: A class 4-5 medium-duty electric truck brand by Daimler.

Mullen THREE: A Class 3 electric truck by Mullen Automotive.

Volvo Group Renault: A joint venture between Renault Group and Volvo Group to develop a lineup of
all-electric 800V delivery vans
.

But the Japanese made Puzzle marks a turning point in the commercial automotive industry, where innovation and sustainability converge to shape the future of transportation.

Wayne was able to engage with HW Electro’s top executives and designers, who had this presentation to go over each innovative feature.
