Check out the all new C-HR by Toyota. What a cool looking car right? Immediately I felt like it was a car of the future, especially with the back door handles higher up then normal, made it feel like a “special” vehicle that I’d feel proud to ride around town in.
My kids, my husband, and I went to Medieval Times over the weekend in Lyndhurst NJ and took the 1 hour ride in style with this beauty.
It has everything you’d expect from a 2018 vehicle, blind spot monitoring, large LCD touch screen with bluetooth capability, heated seating, and more, although navigation does not come standard which is interesting.
One thing that I found unique that may be a Toyota brand thing (this is my first time with a Toyota) is the back up camera comes up on the rear view mirror as opposed to what I am used to which is on the large LCD screen.
See how small it is? Personally I am not a fan of this for a few reasons. The number one reason being the picture is very small and grainy and I don’t quite get the point of it being there instead of a much larger viewing screen. The second thing is, as a mom, while driving I have enough distractions with the kids fighting over things in the back seat, It’s defintely a distraction to have to look into the rear view mirror foot the back up camera, and in the right side is the actual mirror which you can see out of the back, yes, but you also see little heads bopping around and hands flailing about. I guess I don’t really see the point of it IN the rear view mirror. Anyone?
I found myself not even using it and struggling to see out of the accrual mirror instead along with the turn your head to see technique which the back windows make it very hard to see out of since they’re small due to design.
I guess that’s a price to pay for external beauty. The vehicle itself shines no matter where you go because it is so different in its design.
I thought my kids would have a hard time opening the back doors themselves but once I told them where the door handle was (I admit, I let them struggle for a bit trying to figure out where it was #badmom) they were able to open it pretty easily.
Can you find the back door handle? LOL!
The inside front is much smaller then my husband and I are used to with me having a full size explorer, but it is roomy enough to get comfortable in after. Also, surprisingly The back seat is much roomier than you would think.
My stepfather wanted to go for a ride in the back seat with my youngest and he raved about how comfortable he was back there even though it’s a small sized crossover.
From the back it looks like a small hatch back, but looks can be deceiving.
Check it all of this trunk space!

Check out aerial footage I took from the 2015 show #NYBSBloggerLounge @NewYorkBabyShow:

November 2018 was the 2017 NYC Play Fair and I had to ride in style so #Mazda hooked me up with this hotrod to take on the voyage across state lines. Ok, ok.. it’s only a 45 minute trip into NYC depending on traffic but I wanted that “dramatic” feel haha! And boy did they hook me up!
I feel like I need to start by introducing you to the safety features of this fine beauty called the 2018 Mazda3.
As a mother of 2 boys, I live and breathe what is best for them and my family, and being that we are in and out of it alot, my car isn’t a choice I take lightly.
In addition to all of the important features listed above, you can turn on the car length guide that shows you if you’re tailgating the car in front of you which I find extremely useful. You know us NJ drivers need to get where we’re going quickly and sometimes don’t notice we are tailgating until our husband’s yell at us (LOL!).
The interior of the 2018 Mazda3 is breathtaking. They hit the nail on the head with this ivory and black combination interior… I mean just look at how stunning this looks. Would you believe the 2018 starts at just under 20K??
This model came with a sunroof which i l love to keep the window closed but the screen open. Makes November seem like Spring time letting the sun in… when there is sun…
The heated seats, both driver and passenger are a huge bonus and to top it off, a heated steering wheel! ALWAYS GO WITH THE HEATED STEERING WHEEL! You can thank me later.
The interface leaves a little to be desired in my opinion as they artyl haven’t gotten it right. It’s 2018 and there isn’t a standard navigation package in this model which I found a bit odd with how luxurious everything else was.
Alao, getting used to the center console controls takes a little but, but once you get used to it, it’s fine.
Now onto the exterior. What more can I say, such a stylish, family friendly vehicle that works it in all the right places.
Check out this beauty in pearl white with aluminum alloy rims, halogen lights and sleek windows. Did I mention the grill is A-Maz-ingly intimidating yet beautiful? Zoom-Zoom!
See for yourself what the fus is about…
The trunk folds down into the 2nd row for sects space if needed, but even without doing that I wad amazed at how easily I fit my weekly HUGE grocery trip into it no problem.
Do you own a Mazda? Let me know what you think down below!
We are no strangers to Bookroo’s monthly subscription program. In fact, my son remembers how fun it was to unveil the books the last time he got a shipment, check out my previous post from a couple years back.
This is a great gift idea for little ones and older kids as well. They have board books as well as paperback and all are quality books worth every penny of the monthly fee you will be paying for them. The wrapping paper that they come wrapped in is worth that much alone!
Imagine the faces one the kids wheb they get their monthly package in the mail with two books to unwrap. Just watch my 5 year olds reaction to the “gifts” he got!
What’s even better is the fact that this makes him want to try reading and creates an excitement around the possibility of books. Personally, we have so many books that I like to donate books when we are done with them, but these we tend to keep because they’re special!
Right now they have a GREAT Cyber Monday deal going on for 25% off you order by tomorrow 11/27!

Lately I’ve been on sort of a health kick.. I am part of a bootcamp training facility that I go to daily at 5am, I am walking a mike a day on my lunch break at work and eating more consciously. I’ve been getting a little into essential oils and using my oil diffuser while i take a shower or a relaxing bath with a bath fizz and some eucalyptus scented Epsom salt to help ease my sore muscles and dry skin.
It also helps me to wind down from the day and just clear my mind. My kids have also used the eucalyptus to help with allergies and sinus issues, I just prop the diffuser in their room and they’re good to go after a couple hours relaxing with it filling the room with aromas.
With that being said, I want to give my opinion on a lesser known mom and pop store in my home town of Staten Island (I love saying I was born on an island because it’s true haha).
Www.Relaxbehealthy.com sent me a few items to check out and i have to say I’m really loving them. I haven’t had much experience with essential oil water sprays but these probably take the cake of i had to guess from what i see with their essential oils.
All of their products are organic and hand made in their shop with imported products from around the world. The items in reviewing are made from raw materials from Bulgaria and are the real deal.
First up to the plate is the Lavender Water. It’s a 4oz misting spray and is $10.99. It has a scent of lavender just a bit lighter then the oil, and is a super soft delicate mist.
All natural Bulgarian organic Lavender water:
When sprayed directly only hair, it helps make hair shiny as it conditions the hair.
You can use the water spray as deodorant for your body, or even spray on furniture and around the home to deodorize.
There are many other different uses for lavender you can experiment with.
Now this Rose Water is my absolute favorite. They captured such am amazing scent I could wear it as a body must and probably will! Also $10.99 at their store, I wish you could smell it through this post, but if you do order from them, I suggest you put this in your cart.
All natural organic Bulgarian Rose Water:
It can help reduce the redness of irritated skin, get rid of acne, helps to maintain the skin’s PH balance, helps to hydrate the skin, helps to aid healing scars, cuts, wounds, regenerate skin tissues, dermatitis and eczema. It is a great cleanser and aids in removing oil and dirt accumulated in clogged pores, helps aging skin, wrinkles and fine lines
Extra fun uses include mood enhancer and spray the scent on your pillow to help to sleep better.
Enhance the quality of hair. Helps to rid dandruff, natural conditioner.
For dry & frizzy hair: Mix equal parts rosewater and glycerin, apply on the scalp, massage for 10-15 minutes. Let it stay for another 30 minutes and wash off with shampoo.
Last but not least is their 20ml Lavender Oil that retails for $24.99 but is currently on sale for $21.99 At their online boutique. This little potent bottle is much more fragrant then any other essential oil I’ve gotten and you can tell it’s just so fresh and pure. Check out my video below to see what i compared it to.

Fall is officially here and at my house we are getting in the Halloween spirit already.
My youngest has an obsession with scary and goury things so when i got the letter for the fall dance at his school, I knew i had to make a scary treat for the kids.
Every year I like to make something, and not tooting my own horn (ok.. maybe I am just a little), but my treats always sell out the fastest.
Last year I made little monster cupcakes with edible candy eyes and they actually looked like little alien monsters. The year before that was Jack Skellington sugar cookies which was fitting because that was my oldest’s Halloween costume that year. The year before that were pumpkin cupcakes…
This is a seriously simple treat, and doesn’t require much artistic ability, but I figured I’d share anyway in case you wanted to make these adorable little monster eyeball Cupcakes!
So, let me start off by saying yes.. the pictures are ehh, and I probably could’ve taken more step photography but honestly, I was rushing and just trying to get done. I had gone to the gym at 6am, then worked a 9 hour day, and just gotten home at the time, plus has dinner going in the oven simultaneously. I love to multitask, it’s one of my talents and I can be a bit hyperactive😀.
Here’s all you need;
I went with classic white cake because hey, eyeballs are white after all.. I’m a little disappointed I couldn’t find the green jelly candy rings because that was my initial plan, but these peach ones came out just fine and they taste super yummy! Did i mention they’re only $1 at the grocery store?
I picked through the m&m bag for only red since I was making scary monster eyes, but brown or any other color would work just as well.
I like them a little bigger for the kids treats for school functions, so i went auth my large baking cups from”if you care” and the color worked well since its a light natural beige and they’re safer for kids because they are free of all chemicals and chlorine.
For the next few steps, that’s where I slacked off. Maybe I was too excited to start decorating but you get the jist. Simple. Creative. Cute. Most important, really yummy!
*Note, I use olive oil in place of vegetable oil because it makes the cupcakes fluffier.
Enter to WIN 3 packs of IF YOU CARE cupcake holders ($12 Value!)!
